Meta Horizon Managed Services

Effective February 20, 2026, Meta ended the paid HMS subscription and discontinued its enterprise-specific Quest hardware. The consumer Quest 3 and Quest 3S are now the only Meta headsets available, and both are fully eligible for HMS enrollment. There is no longer a separate enterprise SKU, no per-device license fee, and no paid HMS tier.

HMS is not being shut down. Meta has committed to support and bug fixes through January 4, 2030. New device enrollment continues to work. Individual Mode and Shared Mode both remain available. What ends is active feature development: HMS will not gain new capabilities before the 2030 deadline. Beyond that date, Meta has made no commitments.

HMS provides the Meta-side enrollment and identity layer. Third-party MDM platforms like ArborXR and ManageXR sit on top of that and remain separate subscription costs. Both vendors have confirmed continuity and their platforms continue functioning with HMS. If you need advanced fleet management, policy control, or content distribution beyond what HMS provides natively, those platforms remain the right tool.

A pilot fleet that previously required per-device HMS licensing now has that line item at zero. The enrollment, policy, and app distribution capability that HMS provides is unchanged. Organizations evaluating Meta Quest for training, simulation, or collaboration now face a shorter cost justification and a simpler procurement path: buy standard consumer hardware, enroll in HMS at no charge, and manage the fleet.
